Inteha - Not Just Another Copied Bhatt Film

 

So if you are in to thrillers, then Inteha is just the film for you. Even though this ‘inspired’ (From the 1996 Hollywood film, Fear) Vikram Bhatt movie is quite been-there-done-that in terms of its plot, it still is pretty entertaining due to its creepy/suspense/thriller factor. And as we all know the Bhatt camp thrive on creepy.

Beauty & Brains - Decent debut performance by Vidya Malvade

This is the only expression she manages throughout the film

Nandini Saxena (Vidya Malvade) comes to look after her step sister, Tina, after their father’s death. Nandini tries her best to win over Tina. However, Tina is a spoilt brat from hell. She hates Nandini to the core- which she makes very obvious. Enter Ranbir Oberoi (Ashmit Patel). Ranbir is handsome (I mean super-Hot), smart and charming. Tina falls head over heels in love with him. Ranbir also manages to convince Nandini that he is perfect for Tina. However, Nandini has her suspicions about this almost-perfect man (C’mon no guy is ever that perfect aye). 

His 'I am up to something' smile. Impressive performance by Ashmit Patel as the conniving psycho.

Nandini does her own investigation and manages to uncover that Ranbir is pure evil. Does Nandini manage to convince Tina that Ranbir is the bad guy? The tagline of the film is ironically ‘One of them will die’. So who dies at the end? 

Vidya Malvade does very well for a first film. Her expressions are spot on and she is extremely convincing as the concerned sister. Nauheed Cyrusi is expression less and gives the term ‘wooden’ a whole new meaning – She even makes Katrina Kaif look like Meena Kumari. Ashmit Patel is also convincing as the psychotic/obsessive/creep – The fact that he is hot helped a lot, I guess.

Songs and music deserve a gold star

The music and songs of this film are the true winners. Anu Malik did a wonderful job. This is one of his best compositions by far. If you are a romantic-nut, then you better download all the songs of this film right now. Personal favorites are Ab Humse Akele Raha, Humsafar Chahiye, Yun Hi Dil Ko Agar and Deewana Dil.
